5 Everyday Items That Make Applying False Lashes So Much Easier - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Across the obvious items it takes to stone false lashes, there are definitely some everyday accoutrements and doo-dads that can make the process easier.
Before that, though, you take to start with the basics, like a great pair of lashes, and I love the Ardell 120s, because they're simply $4 each and await pretty natural, equally far as falsies get.
I as well love, beloved, LOVE the MAC Mariah Carey 05s. In fact, I'thou thinking well-nigh stockpiling them when the Mariah collection comes out.
You also need a good lash gum (I've been using the one that comes with the Urban Decay lashes considering it isn't stinky), a healthy dose of patience and a mirror.
It's weird… On the surface, information technology doesn't seem similar false lashes would be that difficult to apply, right? I mean, how hard could it exist? You take one, put a petty gum on information technology, and stick it on your eye…only it is sooo much harder than that.
Like, seriously, when I first started wearing false lashes, I had to block out at least 20 minutes to get it right, but I've figured some things out since and then. It's a piddling easier now, and here are five everyday items/hacks that assistance.
1. A cleaved Q-tip (yes, break it in half)
Here'south the bargain: When you put too much glue on the lash band, your gonna cease upwards with a hot mess. Glue gets all over your lids, your lashes, and y'all besides run the risk of having so much mucilage on in that location that your optics stick shut every fourth dimension you glimmer (meet: things I learned the hard manner).
To avoid all that, intermission a Q-tip in half, and use one of the cleaved ends (and then not the cotton fiber cease) like a glue spatula. Put a trivial gum on there, and then utilize information technology to your lash band.
It's a lot easier to command where you lot put the mucilage with the Q-tip than if you try to apply information technology direct from the tube, at least in my feel.
2. A makeup brush…handle (yup, merely the handle)
Sometimes when I apply falsies I terminate upward with a gap between the false lashes and my natural lashes, so I'll take hold of a makeup castor, flip information technology around in my hand so that I'm holding it backwards, close my eyes, and then I'll line the handle up horizontally on pinnacle of the simulated lashes and gently press on them to get them to stick my natural lashes.
iii. Tweezers
OMG! OK, at present, you can probably remove your lashes from their tray with your fingers, just uh…I accept butterfingers, and sometimes (read: e'er) I accidentally smoosh office of them when I catch them with my fingers.
They just don't look right afterward that, so now I advisedly elevator them out of the tray with tweezers. That mode they retain their shape.
4. A black felt tip liquid liner
I as well use liquid liner to darken the band of my imitation lashes before applying them, instead of later on.
And then, you know how most false lashes have that white ring that looks super obvious? Well, later I remove the lashes from their tray with my tweezers, I darken the white part of the lash ring with the liner. That style when I popular them on my natural lashes, I don't have to go over the band once more with eyeliner and risk disturbing the lashes or moving them effectually.
The one I'grand currently loving is from Clinique. It's pigmented, doesn't irritate my eyes, and it isn't also expensive.
v. Eye makeup remover
This might sound super obvs, and perhaps information technology is…but I spent years just ripping my false lashes off.
Sometimes, you know, it's the end of the day, you're hella tired, and yous just rip 'em off, merely if you want to reuse your false lashes (I do), yous accept to be gentle with them.
Enter: makeup remover.
I'll soak a cotton fiber pad or a Q-tip with makeup remover, then hold it on top of my fake lashes for 30 seconds or so to let them soak up some of the remover. And so I just gently jerk the lashes to slowly remove them.
It helps them keep their shape for the adjacent employ, and information technology's also skilful at breaking down the glue, which tin stay glutinous on your real lashes. Sometimes I'll put some more remover on the cotton side of a Q-tip to do it.
Oh! — and if you're looking for a good makeup remover, I think this waterproof eye makeup remover past Klorane is bang-up. It'south gentle and removes errthing. 🙂
